| On a regular basis Bev and I send boxes of needed items to troops in Afghanistan. I just received this email from the lady who is the coordinator for this kind of support. All, This is an urgent request to everyone who has ever thought of sending a care package to our troops at war. Several forward operating bases in Afghanistan just sent me a plea for basics that aren't available for their troops - items like soap & wipes to luxuries of shampoo and cold medicine. Word got around that we jump in to help our troops in need, let's not let our Soldiers and Marines down! Going out of our normal pattern of support, I'm asking each of you to send a box now to get their shelves stocked and then we'll do our regular mailing to keep supplies rolling. Some bases have females serving and need girlie items. What I need now is your reply that you will send a box immediately. Also indicate if you will continue sending a box each month. I'll send you an address and the items for your box so each base receives a balance of what they need. If you'd like to help but don't have the time to get a box sent, donations are welcome, I'll pack & mail for you. Just ask for my address to send me a check. The military may send our troops to war without daily necessities but we won't let them do without!
