Truly you are protected Earlene. We are grateful that you are uninjured.Oregon also has a "no cell phone use" law while driving. They won't generally stop a person seen talking on the cell BUT, if a person is in an accident while on the phone it will result in additional charges and fines.I expect that if a police officer sees someone driving erratically and they are on the phone then, they would be stopped and charged with both dangerous driving and talking on the cell while driving. It is like the law in many states that it is not "legal" to exit the car from the drivers door. It is never mentioned unless a driver, without checking for traffic or bicycles, opens the driver side door and by doing so, causes an accident. Then that driver is "at fault" and financially responsible for any damages. This is 2.5. any diff? |
