This was posted at another site and I thought there might be someone here who might be interested in helping.

My friend 1Lt. Greg Wilson in Irag with the Army reserves needs your help!!!!
Attached is the letter I recieved from Greg and a letter he sent and received from a comrads wife, a school teacher willing to help from my area.

Note: forwarded message attached.

Hello everyone,

Recently I have been trying to raise money to help
rebuild the interior of the schools in my zone.   I
have sent out numerous emails and contacted many
people by phone to help in this effort.

I just recieved a really good email from a friends
wife, she is trying to get some teachers organized in
the wetumpka area.

My main focus is to fix the interior of the school.
The lights and plumbing fixtures are shot.   The
fixtures are different over here, so stuff in the u.s.
will not work.   The only way to repair it, will be to
purchase the parts over here.   In order to do this,
cash money would have to be sent, (there is no way for
me to cash checks).

After we fix the electrical, and plumbing, we are
going to paint and make the place look really nice.

Thanks for any help you may be able to give to these
children.   They think highly of America, and this will
do nothing but create positive images of Americans
when they get older.

I will be leaving Iraq in two months, please do not
send anything after Dec 15th.

Sincerely, Greg

Hello Barbara,

It was good to hear from you.   You have definitely
lifted my spirits by wanting to help out.   I just wish
you could see the kids and parents faces when they see
us trying to rebuild their schools or passing out
gifts and candy.

Right now my major project before I leave is to do
something for the schools.   I would like to get new
blackboards for the schools in my area.   They cost
about $50 ea.   After that I want to try and fix their
electrical and plumbing problems.   The looters took
everything from them.   Most all of the electrical and
plumbing codes, and fixtures over here are very
different from ours, so using stuff from the u.s. will
not work to well.   Any money raised would go to
purchasing lights, switches, wire, and plumbing
fixtures for the schools.   Some things that could be
sent over from the U.S. include, paint brushes,
rollers (thick ones, the walls are not smooth), poles
for the rollers, roller trays (metal), key pad locks,
door hasps for the locks, pencil sharpeners (wall
mounted), concrete nails, electrical tape, spiral
notebooks, pads of paper, chalk, pencils, crayons, and
any sort of school supplies that can be donated.   I
did not mention the school supplies before, but they
are always in need, and some of your friends may not
wish to send cash (their is no way to cash checks over
here).   My main goal is to fix the building first, as
I think it is more important to have a comfortable
place to learn.   Tell all your friends I appreciate
their concern, and I will be sure to take pictures of
us painting this school.

Another project we are working on is giving gifts to
the children for Christmas, although they are Muslim,
they may remember us giving gifts for Christmas, and
later in life learn about why we give gifts at
Christmas.

Oh, do you know a Mrs. Wright, last I heard, many
years ago, she was the principle at Wetumpka H.S.   She
was my English teacher when I went to SEHS.   Tell her
I said hi, from the class of 88.

Say a prayer for us, we lost a man yesterday, and two
were hurt bad.   Hopefully we will lose no more.

We will be leaving here around mid January, please do
not send anything after Dec 15th.

Thank you for your help and concern,   Greg Wilson
